Join the Lake Ray Roberts Equestrian Trails Association for the Second Annual 'Swim With Your Horse' Campout at Platter Flats Campground on Lake Texoma. The weekend features scenic trail rides, lakeside horse swimming, camping, campfire fellowship, and plenty of time to relax with fellow horse enthusiasts. Friday evening begins with an easy ride at 6:30 PM. Saturday riders meet at 9:00 AM and ride out at 9:30 AM before cooling off with a swim alongside their horses in Lake Texoma. Saturday evening includes a camp gathering around 6:00 PM with hamburgers and hot dogs provided for a suggested $5 contribution. Guests should bring their own drinks and a side dish or snack to share. Sunday morning riders meet at 9:00 AM and depart at 9:30 AM for one final ride before enjoying another lakeside swim with their horses. Participants must reserve their own campsite through Recreation.gov. The host trailer and campfire will be located at campsite A19. Complimentary coffee and muffins will be available Saturday and Sunday mornings. After reserving a campsite, participants should email their campsite number to LRRETA2018@gmail.com.
